You can ask questions during class and let Tanya know if things are moving too quickly or too slowly for your goals. Stop and rest whenever you need – remember this is YOUR time.

Your personal yoga class will be scheduled when it works for you – finally you can practice exactly when you want without worrying about rushing to that studio class. Flexibility with your classes.
Tanya can add in more breaks and restorative yoga poses if you feel tired and answer your questions as they arise during class. You also have the added bonus of being able to change your class time if required.
Advanced asana
Dreaming of a forearm stand? Wishing for that crow pose? Tanya can help you take your practice to the next level. Often group classes are designed in an “all-level’ fashion to help everyone feel included, which is a wonderful thing! However, if you’ve been practicing for a while, you might find that you need a new challenge or want some more personalized attention while working on that elusive arm balance. Tanya will work with you to take you to that next level safely and with lots of laughs!
Delve into the deeper components of yoga in a private yoga class to incorporate more advanced asanas, pranayama, and meditation. Add in the study of the yamas and niyamas into your vinyasa flow. A private yoga class with Tanya Dawe, who trained as a nurse at McGill University, can cater to your injuries, disabilities, or limitations. Tanya will take the time to discuss your current special health needs to create a class that will complement existing physical therapy or other medical recommendations prescribed to you.
Tanya will gently show you how to modify and adapt any yoga pose to meet your unique needs and show you how props, such as pillows, blocks, and blankets, can assist in making some of the postures more accessible to you.

A personalized class is highly recommended when you are expecting. As an expecting momma-to-be your pregnancy and body is unique and every day you will feel and need something new. Prenatal yoga helps to manage the stress and nerves that accompany pregnancy and can ease tension and tenderness that builds up in your shoulders, neck and back.
Prenatal yoga will also open, tone, and strengthen muscles in preparation for labor and for healing the body after delivery.
Private
Remind yourself that it’s not “getting your body back’’ but rather supporting your body and mind in the recovery process. Your body is exhausted after birth and diastasis and pelvic floor issues are quite common. Tanya will guide you though gentle pelvic floor therapy and restorative yoga to gradually get you moving again.
When you’re ready to take your yoga a little further, Tanya will be there to help guide you safely into a deeper muscular strengthening session.
Private
A private mommy baby yoga class can be a wonderful way to help nurture the connection between baby and mother. We will adjust our class depending on if your baby is awake or asleep and also according to your energy levels that day. The class can help to strengthen and tone muscles, especially tight shoulders and back, and also provides new moms with a sense of direction and confidence.
This is the return to taking care of yourself in addition to the baby.
